ABC Hands Out 15 Early Renewals – No ‘Agent Carter’ in the Mix

Freshly minted ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey has given 15 of his channels TV shows the glorious news that they’ll all be surviving into the new TV season.

Handing out the early renewals isn’t a major surprise – networks like to reassure fans early on that their favourite shows aren’t abruptly going off the air. The list of shows lucky enough to be granted their extensions are as follows;

Mervel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Shondaland

Scandal

Quantico

How To Get Away with Murder

Grey’s Anatomy

Once Upon a Time

The Bachelor

Dancing with the Stars

Shark Tank

America’s Funniest Home Videos

Fresh Off The Boat

The Middle

The Goldbergs

Modern Family

So rejoice if one of your favourite TV shows has survived into the new TV year. If it’s not there (Agent Carter?!?) relax, these are just the early renewals and more will come sliding in eventually.

Once Upon a Time, Modern Family and Dancing with the Stars are all still big draws for the channel so their appearance isn’t surprising. Agents of Shield on the other hand is a slight surprise – if only because it’s numbers haven’t been great in recent times.

I stand with my fellow Agent Carter fans in hoping that ABC does the nice thing and gives us a season 3. We’ll even start watching the awful Goldbergs if helps our case!
