We recently wrote about how Metroid needs a huge shot in the arm and today’s news may finally wake Nintendo up in that regard. UFC megastar and former Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has revealed that’s she’s totally game for playing the famous bounty hunter Samus Aran.

Speaking to Gamespot, the UFC Star explained

“I’ve always wanted to be Samus. That would be badass…. I hope they make a movie out of that.”

When asked why she wanted to take on the iconic role, she said;

“I love how people found out later that it was a hot chick on the inside,” jokingly noting that because Samus is nearly always in her suit, she can “just hang out and eat donuts and be the star of Metroid.”

The idea of Rousey donning the Varia Suit may not appeal to everyone – but we suspect that if the role involved no talking and she kept it on (As we’d expect her too) then there wouldn’t be any issues with this at all. We doubt anyone would be able to take down Rousey in a one-on-one fight; Mother Brain included.
