‘Deadpool 2’ already greenlit reports state
Deadpool hits cinemas this Friday and after the agonisingly long wait for the foul mouthed hero to make it to the big screen – many of his fans will be happy to just see it finally happening. Now though reports indicate that Fox has already greenlit the films sequel and has begun bringing together a strong production staff to make it happen.
This news comes courtesy of HollywoodReporter which states Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of the first film, are apparently well under way with the sequels scripts. No director has been attached though, with Tim Miller not yet signing on for another go in the directors chair.
Fox has been cautious in discussing the existence of any sequel, preferring to see how the Deadpool performs with audiences before committing to any more flicks. That being said there is a huge space in the studio’s release schedule with the reported cancellation of Fantastic Four 2 – a move that should surprise no one who was unfortunate enough to see the original.
Deadpool is reported to be tracking with a $65 million figure over the upcoming weekend – with more optimistic numbers putting the weekends takings at over $70 million. Impressive numbers for an M-Rated film.
