Harry Potter fans have a lot to be excited for when JK Rowling releases her upcoming stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Even better news is that the script for the Potter play will be released on July 31st for everyone who can’t make it to the play in the form of a book. But don’t be fooled says the writer – this will only be the  stage script

The situation was confirmed by Rowling on Twitter who took to the social network to clarify fans questions over the status of the upcoming book;

This news might be disappointing for some fans hoping to see the stage play adapted into a proper novel. Still, I’d argue it’s a nice gesture for fans who won’t be able to get to the play.

She also confirmed that the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is not a prequel – so please stop asking!
