Oh dear.

Michael Bay’s attempt at rebooting the Transformers franchise has received all kinds of criticism from general movie goers through to hardcore fans for being a shambling abomination. Despite this the franchise has made an insane amount of money at box office and thus Paramount are eager to milk their cash-cow for all it’s worth.

The release dates are;

Transformers 5: 23rd June 2017

Transformers 6: 8th June 2018

Transformers 7: 28th 2019

Michael Bay has already announced that he will be stepping behind the directors chair for Transformers 5 but will not be returning for it’s sequels. The move to an annual franchise guarantees the need for a new director and with Bay tied up by other projects – makes most sense for the franchise.

We here at ScreenCritics can’t wait to see how this pans out – if only so we can see what a Transformers extended universe looks like.
