Fox’s Deadpool movie is doing exceedingly well – setting a number of records over the weekend during it’s cinema rampage. Now it’s been revealed that the movie is set to earn more than expected; with analysts expecting the movie will cross the $90 million mark during the Valentines Day weekend.

The R-Rated superhero flick is reported to have made $35 million on Friday; adding to the record breaking $12.7 million haul it pulled in on Thursday evening. While not on the same level as Avengers or Marvel’s big hitters – an R-Rated film pulling in such numbers is an incredible feat and underlines the popularity of superhero films at present.

Worldwide the film is reported to have earned more than $80 million – pushing it’s total for the opening weekend up to $170 million. For a film with a budget of $58 million; Fox must be very pleased with their investment.

It should be noted that the superhero film has some sizeable competition in the form of Zoolander 2 and How to be Single – two films that haven’t lit up the box office as much as expected.
