Emily Blunt Reportedly set to star in Mary Poppins 2

Mary Poppins is a timeless Disney classic that took the simple story of a nanny and made it magical. Now Disney is looking to reprise it’s classic franchise with Emily Blunt set to take the iconic role from Julie Andrews.

Rob Marshall is reportedly in as director while Hollywood star Emily Blunt will take the iconic role over. John DeLuca and Marc Platt are also on board as producers. Disney is reportedly very keen to get the movie into production as soon as possible.

The story is apparently going to take place in Depression-era London – 20 years after the events of the first story. It will bring back the Banks family – although in what form we are not sure.

The original 1964 film starred Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke; making over $100 million at Box Office and bagging five Oscars.
