Matt Damon goes all Jason Bourne in Super Bowl Trailer
Matt Damon’s returned from his space adventures in Interstellar and The Martian to reclaim the mantel of action here it seems – with the first trailer for his upcoming Jason Bourne flick being shown off during last nights Super Bowl.
One of the few summer blockbusters to have not yet shown itself off – Matt Damon reprises the role of Jason Bourne. Along with director Paul Greengrass (Who directed the original trilogy) the movie looks set to pick up the story of the forgetful US secret agent a few years down the line from his last appearance in Ultimatum. The films synopsis reads;
Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.
For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.
It’s great that we can finally forget about that awkward sidequel from a few years ago. You know the one, the Bourne Legacy. I do wonder if they’ll bring up all the shenanigans of that film in this one. I hope not. We can all just pretend it was a bad fever dream and let it slip into the night.
Jason Bourne (As Bourne 5 is now known) will be with us in cinemas come the end of July.
