After her movie stealing performance in the critically acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road; Charlize Theron’s Hollywood stock has risen incredibly and the actress finds herself linked with a string of high profile roles. The latest rumour suggests that she may be appearing as a villain in the upcoming Fast & Furious film.

The rumour comes courtesy of Deadline which suggests that Gary Gray, Furious 8’s new director, is keen to throw a strong female into the villain role. Gray and Theron has previous connections as they worked together on The Italian Job remake some years back. Whether she accepts the role or not is another question entirely.

It would be an interesting turn for the actress who hasn’t really dabbled in villain roles throughout her career. Certainly you can’t accuse the movie of lacking in strong female casting – previous movies have seen the inclusion of UFC superstar Ronda Rousey and Michelle Rodriguez. We’ll have to see if the rumours turn out to be true.
